HIKING KNOB FALLS

For amazing views of the Rogue River in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Forest be sure to check out this unique gem, Knob Falls!

Start your adventure at the Natural Bridge viewpoint area. Throughout your trip, you will discover many wonderful rapids and overlook opportunities, perfect for breathing in the scenery or practicing photography! If you take the Upper Rogue River Trail for 1.3 miles, you will encounter an array of amazing views of the mighty and scenic Rogue RiverAfter approximately 1 ⅓ miles you'll encounter a fork in the road - take a right for approximately 0.2 miles where you will see a slight downhill grade to Knob Falls. There are no signs, but you cant miss it!

As you make your decent, enjoy the spray of the water and the wonderful sound of rushing rapids with amazing views that you will remember for a lifetime. Upon your return, you can go back the way you came, or you can continue on to Woodruff Bridge for another 2 miles. Along the way, you will encounter several small beaches along the river to dip your toes in or enjoy the views.

Whether you decide to go back to the trailhead after your time at the falls or continue to Woodruff Bridge, you are guaranteed to enjoy your time at this wonderful hiking location. Be sure to spend some time at the Natural Bridge viewpoint area, and take your time reading about all the natural wonders the area has to offer!

Knob Falls

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

Distance: 3 miles roundtrip, 250-foot elevation gain

Parking: Free

Restrooms: Pit toilet at the trailhead

Optimal Season: Spring, Summer, Fall

This trail is perfect for hiking with your family or pets, photography, trail running and more! Be cautious of ticks and poison oak in the summer months, and wear good hiking shoes to decent close to the falls. Enjoy an afternoon marveling at the beautiful falls and river, and soak in the experience of being close-up to the rushing Rogue River.

Take Crater Lake Highway (Highway 62) east for approximately 50 miles. Turn left at Natural Bridge to Road 300, and take Road 300 0.6 miles to the parking lot.
